The leaves might be falling, but Domotz reached new heights in Q3. Here’s a list of the new features, integration, and enhancements we made in the last quarter.
New Features
Full visibility of network-connected devices
The first Domotz Q3 news concerns managing and controlling network-connected devices. This has become even easier. If you use the per-device model, you have complete visibility of the devices connected to your network.
Alert banner for Important Offline Devices
Going on with Domotz Q3 news, we’ve added an intuitive alert banner to the Devices tab so you know exactly when critical devices go offline. This is another great component for proactive network management.
Use Public IP addresses on Routed Networks, IP List and Range configuration
This new feature introduces support for public IP addresses in three core areas of network management: routed networks, IP lists and range configurations.
This feature complements the existing visibility of managed and unmanaged devices. It is a part of the same process, allowing you to decide where Domotz should search for devices on VLAN networks, routed networks, external hosts, or specified IP lists/IP ranges. Once devices are discovered, you can select which ones to continue monitoring.
It’s scaleable, flexible, and more secure.
Big Dog Power PDU support
Our PDU management feature now supports Big Dog Power. This new feature means you can toggle power outlets on and off or even power-cycle them!
Support Accounts with MFA on Ubiquiti UniFi Controllers integration
We know how important security is to your network, so we’ve added support for MFA with your Ubiquiti UniFi Controllers.
Now, you have two secure and flexible account management options, which are:
- Local Admin Account: A simple setup that works even after Ubiquiti enforces MFA for cloud accounts8.
- MFA Seed: For users requiring strict security, this option fully integrates MFA8.
Existing local UniFi Controller accounts are unaffected by these changes.
For detailed implementation instructions, refer to the Ubiquiti UniFi Integration help article.
New Network Collector Dashboard
We’ve saved the best for last. In September, we announced our new Network Collector Dashboard, built to simplify your monitoring and management workflows.
Our new streamlined and user-friendly interface helps you instantly track your network collectors and access important data.
Integrations
Integration scripts and SNMP templates
IT management and monitoring have never been easier with Domotz. In July, we released lots of new integration scripts and another SNMP template, allowing you to track:
- Devices
- Servers
- Virtual machines
- Web applications
- And much, much more.
We’ve also enhanced the existing “Windows Physical Disks” script to monitor the free space available and the disk usage percentage and added a Windows Static IP Monitor to give you more information about whether a static IP is assigned to a network interface on Windows.
You can read more about automation and scripts in the July, August, and September release notes.
Integration with Ubiquiti UISP Cloud Console and AirMax devices
Thanks to the integration with Ubiquiti’s UISP (Ubiquiti Internet Service Provider) Cloud Console and AirMax Point-to-Point Radio devices, network management and visibility have just become easier.
Our system can now extract crucial details, like device name, model number, and firmware version. Centralized management from the UISP Cloud Console means you can quickly assess the health and status of your entire network, identify potential bottlenecks, and even more effectively plan network expansions.
Enhancements
We’ve made some big experience updates to enhance the monitoring workflow. These include intuitive new UI elements and speed optimizations. We’ve even lowered installation times to boost your cost efficiency.
Here are some other upgrades you’ll find in Domotz:
Improved network topology tree
We’ve vastly improved the readability of the network topology tree, making it less cluttered and easier to read at a glance.
Quicker Device SNMP information fetching
It’s now quicker to fetch device SNMP information from the Device Details page.
Cresnet and Zigbee and changes
The Device list section now contains all information related to Cresnet and Zigbee links. To access it, go to the right column under the section “Manage Devices and Subnets.”
UniFi Controllers no longer consume External Hosts
External UniFi Controllers have a new integration process, which means they don’t consume external hosts. This enhancement ensures smooth operations and boosts overall system efficiency.
Direct navigation from Ubiquiti Devices to the External Services page
Any Ubiquiti devices can now directly navigate to the External Services page so that you can configure integration and unlock more data and capabilities on Ubiquiti devices.
The Persistent Devices threshold has been increased
You told us you needed more persistent devices, so we’ve listed them and increased the threshold to 15 units. What’s more, the Booster Pack now supports an increase of up to 30 Persistent Devices.
Conclusion
Domotz enhances monitoring no matter how you use it.
